Strange/funny firefish behavior

I think the pajama cardinal may have picked on him a little at the very beginning (he had a little nip on his tail), but I had not noticed any aggression in the last week or so, and I watched them extensively during feeding time.

I had to go through with the euthanasia (by cold water shock, approved as humane by some animal association). It's one of the most difficult things I've had to do, and I cried like a baby. I thought about waiting it out, but I couldn't stand to watch the firefish suffer any more than I could stand taking his life. He had his head buried in a corner between some rocks, and his body was failing around above him. It was awful, and I didn't see any hope for recovery. Has anyone seen a fish recover from symptoms this severe? I assumed he was too far gone, and I sure hope I was correct because the last thing I wanted to do was to give up on him.

Now what about my pajama cardinal? Is he at risk? Should I pretreat him? (Prazipro?)

Kelp, sorry about your lose. :( I wrote in the disease forum for you.

As far as aggression goes, I removed to coral beauty 4hours ago and he is acting the same. I will give it a day or two to see if he changes his hiding ways. If not I am going to assume it was not the angel and add him back. The clowns don't really seam to pay much attention to him either but I guess I'll have to pay more attention to see if they are.

Do you guys think adding a couple more peaceful fish would be helpful, I was going to wait to add more fish but I have the room for them. Thoughts are appreciated.

Hiding fish are not much fun :sad2:

Cold water shock is... debatable, for future reference. It's difficult to tell what the fish is feeling. I prefer clove oil, it's gentle when used properly.

I don't think that's something your cardinal could have caught, just keep an eye on him.
