Strange GBTA behavior.

My GBTA has been acting very weird lately.

Whenever my aquarium lights go on it crawls underneath a rock and almost none of his body is under direct lighting. When lights go out, he comes and out expands beautifully. It refuses to eat when lights are on. However, I tried feeding it when lights are out and within seconds he swallows the piece of silver side.

The tank currently has NO fish in it, and no other live stock other than a cleaner shrimp and some LPS

I've had this anemone for about 3 months and I purchased it slightly bleached in an attempt to nurse it back to health, tank is about a year old, all parameters are perfect and STABLE

Ammonia 0
Nitrite 0
Nitrate 0
Phosphate 0
pH 8.1
Temp: 78.3-79
Calcium 480

It used to host a pair of True Perculas, but they are undergoing treatment in a separate tank.

I would wonder if it is reacting adversely to your lights. What type of lighting system do you have? Have you made any changes to your lights lately? When did the anemones behavior change, and had there been any changes in conditions that coincided?

I would leave it alone. I have seen this behavior before. It took a couple months but it did eventually come back out and grew like crazy.
FWIW, I have had better luck feeding very small pieces like no larger than a clown could eat in one bite. It increases the surface area of the food and eases digestion not to mention reduces the chance that something will steal all the food you gave it.

Thanks that's great advice. I'll keep feeding it very small pieces.

Right now I have 159 watts over T5HO over 46 gallons.

I'll give it some time.
