what about a grounding probe? that might be a cheaper way to go, and it will cover you if somthing else starts discharging stray voltage.

Update...I got the GFI receptacle in and the ground probe. Thanks for the help guys...

i run the same setup also. gfi with ground probe.
i believe stray voltage can cause latteral line disease in fish.

This is something new that happened...I removed my Pro-Heat II Titanium IC Heater (till winter time) and today I put my hand in the tank and felt a little shock...so I broke out the volt meter and Bamm....40 volt reading..I narrowed it down to the sump pump Mag 7....anyhow the heater must be some sore of ground probe because I just removed the heater and started having problems...maybe its the Titanium ....shock free now
