Stream Kit Ts24 & 9010

Well here it goes I'm upgrading to a new tank 60"L. x 18"d x 20"h. (100g).

In my current 40g I have 2 6025's that i may use or sell off not sure yet.

How well would the ts24 stream kit work for flow in the (5') tank? I plan on having a 2 to 3" sandbed in the tank.

And a mixed reef of sps,lps,clams, etc....

I also just picked up a 9010 skimmer for this new tank and i currently have it running in a 5g bucket of water for break in purposes. i purchased the skimmer used although it has never seen water so it is basically brand new; the only thing i did not receive was the instructions so i downloaded some from the web;

I noticed that if i set the foam pad higher than the water output pipe the skimmer starts to shoot water out of the 2 holes up by the collection cup is this normal?? I am not talking about the one in the back of the skimmer..

No, the foam must always be below the pipe. If the water comes up that high the skimmer cannot get any air.

AHH I see; so the foam is set lower than the top of the pipe and the water i guess than cascades out the top and down onto the foam to catch the micro bubbles??

Is the ts24 kit a good choice for flow on this 5' tank?

That is correct.

It will be strong flow but it is suitable for SPS. You could turn it down on the controller to accomodate lower flow corals.

Roger;
Just to make sure i have the numbers right the ts24 kit comes with 2 6101 streams; which have 2 voltage settings (high & low) correct?
I'm thinking that between the 2 voltage settings and the control from the controller i could achieve a very random & strong flow in the tank.
I would like to place each stream in the corners of the tank; angled towards the center to create a random flow pattern.

I would like to know what your recommendation would be?
I hope to have only the 2 streams and the return from my sump viewable in the tank.

The most recent TS24 is two 6101, but older sets were 2 6100 (not adjustable in voltage).

The 6101 would work very well, set up just as you described. Possibly running on 15V instead of 24V if necessary.

Sounds like a plan to me, the new 6101 will work with the magnets correct?
and have a bit of adjustability or swivel?

and as always thanks for your help..
