stream wave without wavebox

I'd like to use my 2 6100 streams at one end of the tank for a similar (but lesser) effect to the wavebox. I have the 7094 controller but can't see a way to do this. There are the pulse settings but the high setting stays on as long as the low setting - eg with 30/100 pulse for 30s you get 30s at 30% and 30s at 100%. What I want to do is 30s at 30% and 5s at 100% - so the high pulse is shorter than the low pulse. Is there any way to do this with the 7094 or even with the 7095 if I were to buy one?

Thanks,

Daniel

What is the size and dimensions of the tank?

I've seen 2x6100 make a wave from side to side in a 6ft tank that was at like 4 inches. You need to have them pointed at each other, one on each end of the tank.

tank dimensions: 72"x20"x24"

sorry I guess I should have explained better what I'm trying to achieve... a swell rather than a wave so that there's a large but soft backwards and forwards movement. If I could control the pulse high and low times independently I think it might work - so does anyone know if you can do this with one of the multicontrollers?

I don't think you can do it with 7094, the 7095 could come close as a 1 second interval is possible, you could use interval 1 and a short interval.

Thanks Roger - do you mean with pumps at opposite ends (from memory interval 1 turns off the other channel/pump)?

Or could I have them both at one end, have them both on the same channel and use the shorter interval to turn them both off for a few seconds - don't know if this would work as there would be nothing plugged into the other channel?

As a workaround at the moment I've gone back to having the pumps at opposite ends (on different channels) with the lowest interval (seems to be 1 minute on 7094). It's ok but the interval is a bit long which is where the 7095's lower interval would come in I suppose.

Would I be shortening the life of the pumps by doing this - ie having a short off period using the interval? There is a slight clonk (is that a word) as the pump comes back on and I remember you mentioning that having them off completely would increase calcium build up.

Last question - if I were to replace the screens (suction housings) with the ones for a 6200 would this produce a more diffuse output?

The 6200 screen would further diffues the output. You would need to try both pump placements and compare as I have not tried this. The short intervals tend to result in faster lime build up and more cleaning is needed, the noise issue could be resolved by having the new 6100.70 drive unit with no brakes. Other than that it should be fine.
