Hi Rodger,
Looking for advice on stream selection. Tank is a 110 gallon, 72ââ"šÂ¬Ã‚ X 18ââ"šÂ¬Ã‚ X 20ââ"šÂ¬Ã‚ w/ a 4ââ"šÂ¬Ã‚ DSB. Flow from the return will be 800 gph. Tank will be primarily SPS with a few LPS.

My original thought is two 6000ââ"šÂ¬Ã¢"žÂ¢s on a multi-controller. Each stream to be placed on opposite ends, mid height in the tank.

Good plan?

TIA

David

This would work, I would place them 4" from the top though, not midway. Surface agitation is the most critical element of flow. I would expect sand bed problems when the tank is new. This will settle down as a biofilm forms but when new you will have a lot of sand stirred up and you will need to clean the pumps every couple weeks until the sand stabilizes. You may want to turn them real low and just let it run with sand and rock for a month or more. to avoid this.

Thanks Roger. The tank and sandbed have been up and running since January.
