hello,

how many streams and where would i place them for optimal performance.

my tank is a room divider that is visible on all four sides. i hide the light cables along the seam of one of the corners to not obstruct any of the view.

i run a maxijet 1200 siliconed to a drilled pvc on one end for circulation and a 1200gph sedra return pump attached to a sqwd on the opposite end of the overflow.

thank you!

What are you keeping now? Do you have a DSB? It sounds as if you have quite low flow at this point so I think any Stream would be a major change.

hi,

i am keeping clams, polyps and lps at the moment. 2 maximas, 1 medium hammer and 2 colonies of brown and yellow polyps.

i am in no hurry to add critters to my tank

i like the lps and clams the most so i plan to have them as the majority. i may add sps to the tank just for color. my favorite has always been clams then hammers followed by frogspawns.

the places where i put my citters are in a good flow area but yes in the future more circulation will be required.

could you advise where and how many streams i would require.

my rock is placed like an island. none of it touches the glass and i created with the rock a central channel that sort of directs water straight down to the other side of the tank. it doesnt seem to reach all the way so that is why i placed the maxijet with a jerry-rigged drilled pvc on the other side.

OK, 2 6000 Stream on a multicontroller would be the ideal. You could turn down the flow to as low as 600gph per pump and have only one running at a time if desired. Short of this, 2 6060 pumps running on timers alternatiing sides every 3-4 hours would probably be a descent econo set. You cannot control flow on the 6060.
