Streams on a 50 ?

Roger Im outfitting my next tank. Its a 50 Breeder ( 36*18*18) and will be barebottom softies and fish with very little SPS. I would like to consider using a 6000 Stream and 7091 single controller. Some people are suggesting this is too much flow for this tank size. My alternative is to build a closed loop but I would rather have the flexibility of your system if its feasable. Do you think this will work? If not do you suggest Turbell as an alternative. Can I realistically dial down the flow on the stream to something suitable ? Sorry for all the questions and thanks in advance for your answers. Peter

A 7300/2 will likely be a better choice, being bare bottom it is feasible a 6000 could work though especially if the softies will primarily consist of leathers that like high flow.

It is, but when you turn down the flow to accomodate close corals the ones in the far reaches will not get enough flow, it is a diffuse flow that doesn't carry very far.
