My BTA tentacles have been stringy. Always have been since I got it. I have had it for 3 months. I havent fed it but it seemed ok. And the water colomn flows right in its direction.

Im wondering if I should begin to feed it and what would be causing the stringy tentacles

It's a mystery why BTA's bubble or don't. There are countless threads on this. Including pictures of BTA's in the wild with and without bubbles on the same nem and next-door clones.

i would feed it anyway they can last awile on reserves and next thing you no it is deflating allot and to late.if you have a huge mature refugium and great lightin he will not need to be fed more then once a month but we can only mimmic the sun ,zoo, and phyto.in the wild maybe they eat a big meal once every six months but they have a great mother to fall back on inbetween.i would start off very small once every three days then once a week small bits of food.my rbta gets fed by the clowns every day at feeding time and i also feed just the nem twice a week.

Well I went home for lunch and he is still on the move lol. And wouldnt you know it?? The tentacles are starting to bubble up finally. Friggin tempermental animal!!!

it happens all the time but he will settle and for the bubbles aNd no bubbles dont fret it means they all do it for no reason or one that we no of nothing but feed him.

Well Ive had it for months and never fed him and it has definately grown in size...I might try to feed him a piece of mysis tonight. It is a small one and my clowns dont really try to mess with him. The are curious and rub into the nem once in a blue moon but over all...dont really mess with him
