Stuck in a plug?! Come on!

So a few days ago my BTA anemone got him stuck in one of the vent plugs on my Red Sea tank. I've tried coercing him out, blowing powerheads at him, everything I could think of and he still has not been able to free himself. Finally today his foot shrunk up enough that I was able to get the plug out altogether but now he's just sitting in my tank with half his body out one side and half out the other. Is he going to be OK? what else should I try? I'm kind a hoping he'll just split to free himself but not sure how that works. As you can see from my pictures he is beautiful and my favorite part of the tank so I really want him to be OK and will try anything.

Is the plug rubber? Any way to snip it away from him? I know that sounds tricky.

Sorry its kind of funny...

On a serious note, if its foot is attached I would give it time. You could try putting an ice cube in a ziploc and gently applying it to the foot if your out of options... up to you.

So, where does it vent to? In the picture it looks like the nem is just wearing it like a fat guy in a hula hoop.

It goes on the back wall and leads to the back compartments. I took it out of the back wall after he did not move for 48 hours, figured I would take it out and see if that helped him get out

I'm sure it's an ill-advised practice by those who know better, but my LTA got stuck in a powerhead, and he wasn't destroyed, it was just the edge of the disc, and a few tentacles; nonetheless it wasn't something I could just wiggle out, and I started to think it didn't mind being in there, so I took the powerhead out of the tank and left it hanging just above the tank, with the foot just barely touching the water. It took about 20 minutes, but it apparently shriveled up enough to come loose, and was back in the tank when I checked on it.

It should work it's way out, that nem is a bit bleached out, I'd squirt mysis towards it a couple times a week to help regain health and true color.

Yes bleached, so it basically lacks the zooxanthellae it needs to produce energy from light, which is their main source of energy.

A healthy nem does not even need to be spot fed as long as it has good light, but a bleached nem needs some help in regaining health, small easily digestable foods like mysis are best, just squirt some towards it a couple times a week.

You will see that hot pink change to it's true color, probably red, and white will go away, there is no such thing as a white host anemone, that is a sign of bleaching/lack of health.
