Fishes I have

Fishes I have

I've got 8 LARGE clown loaches, ~ 10 large cardinal tetras, 3 LARGE "flying fox" algae eaters, and ~ 10 "pygmy" discus -- these are the runts from a larger school -- about 1 year old, all eating quite well, just undersized.

It was setup as saltwater fish but he didn't have time to take care the stuff so he sold most of the saltwater equipment. I guess he didn't have time to take care the FW either.

J-Bomber,

Unfortunately our forum rules do say that you need to post a fixed price for whatever you are selling. We don't want this to be Ebay or "gimme your best offer".

Thanks.

Thanks for the help

Thanks for the help

Hey MHurley, sorry to cause any trouble. I just figured that a tight-knit community like BAR would be more civil than eBay. Since my goal is to move the whole lot in one fell swoop, I didn't want to price items individually and have to deal with multiple inquiries on multiple items. I totally understand your concerns. If I have to re-list this stuff I'll be sure to price each item seperately.

Hey Elite, thanks for explaining and clarifying my situation to Mr. September 15th (I thought I was pretty clear in the initial listing). Actually, it's not that I don't have time for FW maintanence, it's that this tank is HUGE, and built for SW, and is plumbed down to the basement, and is equipped with all this heavy duty gear that I don't need.

I'll replace this tank with something a little shallower and narrower that I can run with a couple of canisters and low lighting.

you should list the entire package price then. i think they're asking for you to post a price for at least the whole package, not necessarily each item.

Then list the price for the "whole lot".

"make offer" threads are not allowed, regardless of the forum you are in.

prices for stuff

prices for stuff

Okay, so after numerous bits of advice from this knowledgable community, and a nudge from Mike the RC Staff Guy, here are some prices:

Tank and Everything but the Chiller: $900
Chiller: $500

Lame.

He told me he would sell me the chiller, but then sold it to someone else for what I assume was for more money. He didn't even bother to tell me the deal he made with me was off until I emailed him this morning.

Sorry you couldn't get the chiller Rich :( .. But he sold the chiller for the asking price not higher..

hey Art, nice avatar :)

he might be in a big rush to sell the stuff, and perhaps someone stopped by and just picked it up.

he also probably doesn't know rich, so didn't know if he was REALLY going to go get it or not... though we know if rich says he'll buy, he'll buy. too bad =(

phong: thanks! it's one of my tailspot blennies.

Set the record straight

Set the record straight

I wasn't going to even bother gracing Thales' whining with a reply, but since this has turned into an indictment of sorts in the court of online opinion, I thought I'd better. I've got 6 years of 100% positive feedback on a few different sales/auction sites. I know how to conduct business online.

What Thales fails to mention in his tale of victimization is that twice, not once, his PM box was full and I couldn't communicate with him. Either Thales is a novice at online transactions, or he knows that communications and negotiations online can be going in many directions at once, and it's critical that we do everything we can to keep communications open and prompt.

So he wasn't the only party I was communicating with, and the other party called me (I left both a phone number on my initial email) promptly and, get this, bought the chiller for the same asking price as was offered to Thales.

So a person can whine all they want, but the reality is, had he emptied out his PM box after the first time my pm bounced, or had he bothered to call me immediately, he probably would have had his chiller. We've all had online transactions go bad in an instant. If a person can't make room in his inbox or place a call promptly, how does that bode for payment and pickup? I stated in my posting that I wanted things to be easy and fast. That I sold the chiller to someone who was more responsive and thus apperently more responsible hardly makes me the bad guy.

Now I'm sure, since Thales has decided to use this forum as a vent for his frustration, that he'll have something bitter to say in reply. But my record is clean.
