Hello all. It's been close to a year since my last update. I upgraded to an avast marine k2 Kalk reactor after replacing two pumps on the geo. I am much happier with the stirrer design. I replaced the MP40 with an MP60QD alternate from the MP60 added last year. Flow is incredible with the two 60s. I also upgraded the return pump to a Vectra L1 after the "death" of the second jebao return pump, following the loss of two Reef Octopus DC10500 pumps.
We had a nasty alk spike in February that significantly affected or killed several colonies, but all survivors have since bounced back.
This will likely be one of the last posts on this thread as we have finally purchased our "upgrade" tank. We are the proud new owners of a Reef Savvy 405 gallon tank, 120x30x28. I expect to start a new build thread in the coming days.
