i noticed that my yellow stylophora frag has a few patches where it lost its polyps and it is just bare skeleton. the frag has been in my tank for about a month and is showing good polyp extension and good color. all other sps, lps and softies are doing good.
tank params
alk 8 dkh
calcium 430
nitrate, amonia, nitrite 0
salinity 1.025
temp 74

most of the frag is lookin ok its just 3-4 patches of dead tissue
its weird cause usually most sps tissue problems start from the base or at one spot and spread bu in this case its a few small isolated spots
could this be due to some sort of parasite or flatworm

also the frag is in high light but low ish flow, i am considering of moving it to high flow since that usually where i keep stylophora.

I have all of mine in high flow. I wouldn't worry until you see more spots like this. Do you have anything in your tank that could potentially nip at the frag? I caught one of my emerald crabs picking at a purple style....he was moved to the sump. Angels can also nip.

so quick update, after being move to higher flow its looking much better, and polyps are much fuller then before, also a bit better color.

ya 74 is on the cool side but a little while ago i got a few large corals from Tonga, there was an acropora colony that was bleached so to aid it throughout the reversal of the bleaching processes i lowered the temp a little bit, i actually started to increase the temp a few days ago and now its at 78, should be at 80 by next week.
