Substitutes for nori (seaweed)

Why don't you want to use nori? I still want to see a study showing the nutritional value of land based vegetables being fed to marine fish.

Kale, is a leafy green veggie high in nutrients and has special anti-oxidants in it.I have never tried it, but it may work?

One possible reason not to use nori is the mess it makes. Often times fish can tear a large section off the clip which then floats around the tank until it winds up going in the overflow.

You can try folding it and cutting it into small strips like laundry labels that you tear off. Makes for much less mess.

I have seen a number of things people have used to provide a variety to veggie eaters, from banana, pumpkin, zuchini, cucumber, romaine among others.
The big concern among many would be pesticides, and that could potentially be in something that was wrongfully or mistakenly labeled as organic.
I have seen on Melevs site that his naso happens to love banana, so there are experienced folks out there that do provide alternatives.
If you buy from a store that sells people food/not fish food you need to be careful of what may have been added to it to preserve it or make it taste good to us.

The only reason I asked this was for variety, I usually use nori but was just wondering if there was a substitute thats all.

I only feed nori. I worry too much about how quickly the farms are able to grow vegetables and the amount of pesticide and artificial feed they use

I've fed collard greens for years. Before nori became a staple, I raised many herbivores with collard greens as the main veggie. I still feed it weekly or so. Softened in the freezer, it has very little waste.
