Suggestions on where to get empty shells

I was wondering if it is okay to buy empty hermit crab shells at a local craft store as long as we boil them briefly to sanitize them? Also, how do I know how big of shells to get for my hermit crabs? I have 4 scarlets and 1 blue crab. Thanks for your time!

I am sure that the process you described would work, but am also going to recommend reefcleaners.org. I have always had very pleasant experiences with them and they do sell empty shells as you are looking for. And for only $0.07 I might ad! The shells they sell are sized to fit crabs from micro to medium size, and you can also email me them if you would like some bigger shells and they will get together a custom order for you :fish1:
