suicide torch please help

for some unexplaned reason last night b4 i went to bed and after the lights went out i saw that 2 heads of my torch had slimed
so (at midnight) i decided i would investagate the reason the next day
well i got up a little late and had no time to investigate the torch further i would have been late for work
(i start work at 6 am)
i had no choice but to wait till after work to investigate
BOY today was BAD
SUPER BUSY plus my help called off leaving me alone to kp at bob evans ALONE
needless to say after 11 hrs of hell i finaly got home at 6pm
and the torch is bad the whole thing is slimed and can only see a few tentacles caught in the slime (another 2 heads dead (noooooooo))
all i did was top off water b 4 the lights went out
i use filtered water fromthe walmart machine (ro/uv water) what do i do with the slime ? suck it out ???
please help

Have you ever heard of/seen the so-called brown jelly infection? Based on your description, it sounds like a strong possibility.

looks like it to me
i siphoned it off but i think i got a little bit in the water
will my skimmer filter it out?
i dont want to lose any more of my corals

will a hob filter w/carbon help to filter it out of the water
as i said i think i got some in the tank siphoning it off
