Sumatra Gold Bar Maroon Clownfish pair price?

I've been out of the hobby for quite some time but just returning. Found a beautiful pair Female 4" and Male 2", color is bright red with really yellow bars/stripes. Normally they seem more of a dark red/maroon color.

The problem is seller is asking $190 for the pair? Seems like a lot of money but he said they are rare come out of Sumatra?

What do you think?

W/C maroons are rare if they are gold/yellowish bars they are most likely f1 and well worth the price if they are Paired. typical captive maroons are white barred

I saw that reef corner posted a pair of them for sale on YouTube and wondered why they were a little on the expensive side. They look nice but they might get really dark as they age. If it's something you like go for it.

Definitely worth considering them if you are looking specifically for a maroon pair. The fact that they are bonded is a huge plus and that alone is worth the premium. I recently purchased a pair of wild caught onyx clowns. They are a true pair and came from Quality Marine, a wholesaler known for its top notch facility but also slightly higher prices. That said, I am happy I got them.
Reef corner also posted a video of recently paired WC true percula clowns. The larger of the two might be carrying a Picasso gene based on her colors. If you have a chance to see them in person it's something you should consider as well. Good luck.

Are they laying? I think $190 for a true bonded pair isn't bad if you're thinking of raising the fry. Good that the female is nice and large. With that said, if they are laying consistently, $190 is a steal.

If you want them to stay that color don't put them with a rose anemone. Every goldstripe I've seen that associates with a rose turns very dark maroon.
