Hey All!

Its that time again.

I am trying to get some things started for the fall swap. I was wondering if anyone knows how to contact the fellow reefer from the York area who offered to let us hold a swap in his restaurant?

Ideas for the swap can be posted here as well as any questions anyone may have.

Sorry I haven't been online much but things should be clearing up for me soon.

I also would like some constructive efforts for our summer functions, ideas and for people to take on some responsibilities to get things rolling. HINT, HINT... We need volunteers. :)

I hope we can be a very productive crowd this year!!!

As we are in between Board of Directors its kind of a joint effort from all of us.

Thank you in advance for your ideas, criticisms, and of course your awesome personalities that make you a great addition to our club!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! KEEP ON REEFING!!!

Sincerely your wet handed friend,

Rick Pucciarella
NCPARS Secretary
NCPARS President Elect

Maybe we could do another collecting trip around Long Island at the end of the summer.

Maybe we could try doing the Baltimaore aquarium and a trip to Dr. Macs.

I also think it would be nice if we could find a way to help our friends in Pittsburgh get ready for MACNA.

Carl

We are definitely interested in holding a swap at your location! What fall date would be best for you?

Thanks Carl for the reminders of the functions you and I have discussed previously as I did in fact forget them.

We will have to talk to Steve Pro about helping out. If you want to contact him that would be great.

I will ask Scott or Sanjay to see if Joe is still up for another LI trip.

As for the Baltimore trip that would also be Sanjays department.

Lets keep up the good work!

Thanks again,

Rick

Sanjay would need to be one to contact Joe. He's just going out of town for 2 weeks, so this will need to be asked on his return. Rick, I'd suggest emailing him (not sure how often he's on the boards now).

I just wanted to put in a reminder about TFP..they usually hold their big event in August sometime. We missed the last one which was a shame because the swap was close by (Reading). I know they do two events a year and one is generally bigger than the other...but I forget which one.

opps, forgot to update. I pmed you about the date. I will send the pm response to the current and future Board for consideration.

thanks,

Rick

P.S. Keep up the good work all!

Dan, glad you are following up on this, and Bobby, thanks for posting again! from your other thread, bking was probably Brad Kindig, who was president until Ricky took over. I haven't seen Ricky posting in a while, so hopefully he'll pop up.

As it all comes together, ask for volunteers, etc., and I'm sure some of us will be able to offer some help.

Dan, PM Replied.

I am willing to give some direction but I am not as able to be involved like the previous swap.

I will have some time freeing up in about a week and I will feverishly work on it then, but I have had some troubles that have prevented me from doing so.

I am sorry for any delays. I will be catching up here shortly. I just gotta get through the first week of school and wait until the chimmney, roof, and furnace are done at the house(contractors). I also have a new job starting soon so everyone look out because everytime I am employed the weather sucks! LOL

If anyone needs help or direction give me a call on my cell phone, if I don't answer right away I am probably in class but will get back to you as soon as the class is over.

My # is 814-312-4489

thanks,

Rick

Wow, I don't recall this being part of your election platform :D :D

This is very true Sanjay. My house did catch on fire, I have had one contractor arrested, one I had to sue for theft of services, and the work is still not done. I have since found another contractor but now I am in multiple daily conversations with the insurance company. This is taking my valuable hobby time.

After this week is over(first week of school) I will have more time to devote to the event.

I have been talking daily to Dan (rigleautomotive) about what to do and who to contact. I am glad you are bashing me kindly as I haven't done so with the previous BOD members on similar and other matters. I know you are just trying to push in the right direction and I like that kind of attitude and I am sure if you have a few moments that Dan could use help and guidance from a veteran such as yourself! I think we need a speaker still! I know there are many of us who haven't yet heard you on lighting. I am one of those people and would like to see you speak at the fall swap! I am willing to speak as well if needed. My subjects of expertise are limited but can be of some use to someone I am sure. I can answer hobby related business questions from personal experience from my former business. The few times I have had small seminars here at home I have always done an informal Q & A and go from there. If anyone is interested let me know, YOU ALL KNOW HOW MUCH I LIKE TO TALK ANYWAY! :) :)

thanks,

Rick

I think I need to add to and clarify what I said.

I don't mean that I will not be involved or have limited involvement.

What I mean is: I will not be able to be on the swap committee as a driving force like the last swap. I do mean that I will be assisting the chairman of the swap committee(Dan) in full capacity. We have talked everyday this past week or so on details, dates, food, parking, speakers, conversations about the site and booking it, and the like. He is working on the swap as the Committee chair. As previously done, the president oversees committees, consults, and does some but not all of the grunt work. I am taking on as much neccessary to get the job done.

I am sorry for not being as available as I have been in the past, but rest assure that I am working for the club in every capacity that I am capable of.

I am still in need of ideas, concerns, activity schedules, and input from members.

If anyone is interested in joining or starting a committee chime in and let me know. The more help we have, the easier it is for the board to get more done and make this club what it should be, WONDERFUL.

Ricky:

Sorry to hear that your house burned and you are still having problems from the fall out.

But I am glad to see that you and the BOD are finally getting on the ball to get things moving. You seem to have fallen back into the very same model that you yourself were vocal about - lack of proper planning, doing things at the last minute, and lack of communication with the club members. Hey, someone has to remind you :D

I will not be speaking again at the club (at least not for a while), I already did this. I'll be happy to try to get a speaker, but its very difficult to do on short notice. In fact its even harder to do without a date !! I already had a speaker lined up, but had to release him with an apology that we did not even know when the swap was going to be held.

I'll be happy to provide any help and direction needed as long as I have the time to do it, given all the other commitments of life.

sanjay.

Hi Sanjay, i know you are interesting enough to speak at every swap without boring a single person,so if we cant find anyone you might be our best bet.i know i have alot to learn from you.also the date is almost nailed down and one of us will be releasing the information real soon.thanks Dan
