Theiling Rollermat

Hi Gandolf,

It's been a while since I've been on RC but Gary mentioned you may have a question for me.

I've been using this since I bought it off the BRS Black Friday sale which dropped the price to something more realistic. I have been pretty happy with it since it got rid of sock cleaning on 1 of my 2 connected sumps.

I am running an old AGA Megaflow 4 sump connected to a Trigger Systems Emerald 39. The Roller Mat is plumbed to the Megaflow in a haphazard way right now for Fit form and Function since I haven't had time to redesign everything and been on the road alot.

I am testing out some alternative filter material with an industrial vendor at 100 microns and it has lasted quite a long time on a single roll so far. (He gave me 50, 80, and 100 micron rolls to test.) The Original media is probably closer to 50 micron but it only lasted 2 months on my 450 gallon system so far. I figure I don't need to filter anything less than 100 microns since filter socks are only 200 microns typically.

I wrote a short article on my inital thoughts a few months ago on

Let me know if you have any specific questions.

Including a sock holder would seem a no brainer to me.
Bulkheads for external pumps would also be welcome as well as a COMPLETELY covered sump.
Another caveat: everybody builds their sump so water flows left to right.
I want mine to flow from right to left!

Maybe I can make it work for me. I would have to see it.
Jeff's design usually brings return water in from the side of the sump.
