Sump

Hi everyone,
Love the forum, been on for a few months now looking around and I have a question. I have a 75g FOWLR tank and I was looking to add a DIY sump in, its running on a Fluval 405 right now, no fish yet just started to cycle. I have a 20g, 30g, and 55g laying around and I was wondering which one should I use for a sump if its ok to use them. Also what size return pump should I use? Also should I add a uv light, I also have one laying around unused. Thanks in advance, sorry if I made it to long.

Depends on what you are going to be keeping under your tank. the 20, or 30 would be a good size for a tank your size. If you could fit the 55 then the more water you have the more stable to tank will be. Also are you planning on drilling or use a hang on back overflow? usually you want to run 3-5x the ammount of your display through your sump per hour. Hopefully others will chime in soon with the "Welcome to ReefCentral" Picture.

I would use the 55, should fit under cabnet and for the return pump, Mag 12. This is what I use for my 75 and it works great. I can provide a picture if you want to see mine. As for the lights, I only use 2 250w MH 10k.

Thanks for the replys everyone, I'm going to check if the 55 will fit because my stand has draws that might be in the way or I'll make a custom stand/cabinet for it on the side of the tank. Johnny if you don't mind can I see those pics? Thanks again everyone.:D
