Sunlight on tank: block with UV filter?

So I have a small window in my room that lets in a couple inch band of sunshine into my tank for 1-2 hours in the afternoon (see attached). Now I know this can lead to algae, but couldn't it be helpful for my corals as long as my water parameters are good? Or does the bad outweigh the good here by a decent amount?

I could put one of the UV/light filter films on the window which will reduce the light quite a bit from a UV and other factor perspective, has anyone used those with success?

Side note: my tank is cycling so it looks much messier than it will when my cycle is done (wires, rock rubble, etc).

I've seen a few tanks that get some natural sunlight and as long as you keep your nutrients under control you should not have algae issues. Heat can sometimes be problematic but it sounds like your exposure is so minimal that it will not likely be an issue.
