bought this frag recently. here's what it looked like then and now 30 days later, amazing. i have this mounted vertically about 18" down (26" from LEDs), but wondering if i should mount it horizontally as it appears to be growing up towards the lights. any thoughts?

It probably doesn't really matter. If you like it vertically mounted then go with it - the coral seems to be ok with it!

That said, horizontal mounting might mean it grows a little faster since it would probably expand from all sides instead of just from one..

It's an encrusting coral so it's mostly going to grow towards the light with some amount growing in other directions. Basically it'll cover the wall of the tank, if it looks cool to you then that's a good spot for it.

one of my favorite moti's a side from undata. congrats let it grow and stay away from monti nudi's and you'll be good to go.
