Superglue Mishap

Heading to the LFS yesterday, with some frags in mind, I stopped at Walgreens to grab superglue rather than the usual Home Depot or Lowes.

They don't sell the Loctite Gel I usually use, only their brand and Krazy Glue. So I grab one of each and head on.

Not realizing this is the watery superglue crap, I dip the first frag, dry the bottom, flip it over, give the tube a squeeze and the glue goes everywhere, including my hands.

Long story short, I can't use TouchID on my iPhone until this crap wears off.

Never again.

Acetone helps.

Anyone old enough to remember "I Love Lucy" will relate to this.

I was making a few frags the other day, being very careful to avoid the SG Gel I was using. Sure enough, as I was transferring one to the frag tank my finger got stuck. Then another. Then the palm of my hand. Then I somehow got stuck to the bottle. All I could do was start laughing.

My wife is pretty sure that there is something wrong with me.

i once super glued my index, middle, and thumb together trying to mess with superglue for fish line knots while fishing, my dad laughed and then we just pulled them apart, hurt like hell

Years ago someone in my local reef site had a tang graze next to a freshly glued frag, and a piece of rubble stuck to it's mouth.
It eventually fell off but took a while.
Gotta be careful w/ that stuff.

I was glueing moonlights to the back of my light this morning and got my fingers glue to the ati fixture and the lights

I made the same mistake gluing a frag once. glued all my fingers on my right hand together. Decided to go to the store for finger nail polish remover. As I grabbed the steering wheel I felt something like a bubble pop between my fingers and a rush of fresh uncured glue ran out. Now I'm glues to my steering wheel. Can't drive. Can't reach the phone. Can't pull it off. Had to wait in the driveway for over an hour for my wife to come home and get me unstuck.

I got superglue all over my fingers yesterday. I dipped then in acetone nail polish and rubbed them together and the friction makes it come off our crack so you can pull art it. I hate the sensation of a super glue covered finger!

I glued a frag into the tank, and our Fire Shrimp decided to run over and help. Yeah, he stuffed his claws right in the fresh glue. One claw was glued shut, and one of his other legs was glued to the claw.

He limped around like that for two weeks before he molted again. Lol!

Those are sure funny stories....I know they were not at the time but they are now. I guess we should wear gloves when handling super glue. I haven't but think I will start next time.
