SuperGlue ??

I had my first experince yesterday with Loctite Superglue and some red mushrooms and rciordea.

I had a few bad attempts but soon had a grip on it. My ?: I superglued the red mushroom to the rock. Will the mushroom be able to break free and migrate if it so chooses or is it stuck for life?

Superglue usually wont work when gluing a coral straight to a rock.

With mushrooms you have to drop them in a bowl or something with rubble so they don't blow away and attach to the rubble.

Once attached to the rubble then you can glue them to a rock.

When fragging I like to use a bonecutter but you can use a scissors or something to get a small piece of rock under them so you can glue them right away.

Thanks but I did successfully glue the mushroom to a rock. I agree the better would have been to let them attach to the rubble. Will the shroom be able to move?

My vote is in a day or two the shroom will be floating through your tank. They slime up and break the glue barrier very very quickly.

Well last night before bd I noticedone of my shrooms had floated off its originally spot and was in a small cavity in my live rock upside down. It was late so I decided that I would recover the shroom in the morning.

I checked the tank this morning and to my amazement the shroom not only righted itslef but looks to have grabbed on to the rock and was bloomed out. I guess I got lucky on this one. My other two shrooms have also took to their respective rock.

I have used super glue to attach mushrooms directly to a large piece of rock. Not one (out of 6) came unattached, and all migrated on the rock. No problems.
