I picked this frag up at a LFS last week, not sure what it is, maybe superman monti? I got it for the color. Sorry that pic isn't the greatest, only have a cell phone camera. Hope I did tis right, first time posting pic on RC.
If its a nice blue base with red polyps its a superman. If the base is purple and the polyps are close to the same color as the base its a purple haze. Hard to tell from the pic, but based on everyone claim and your eyes you now know lol
I would have to agree with the rest on this thread that you have purple haze monti and not superman...
In order to show you what I mean I "borrowed" some images off the internet..first superman...
And now purple haze
It should be mentioned that "true" superman (i.e frags that can trace their lineage to Tubs original piece.) are thought to be Montipora danae. Notice that the polyps are quite large and recessed around the corals bump-like tubercules. Now look at the purple haze, it has smaller polyps that are almost the same color as the coral itself, as well as lacking the bump-like tubercules. BTW there are quite a few "knock-off" pieces of superman out there and a lot of them are not M. danae (and most are not as spectacular in color as the original.)
I hope this helps...
