We large tank owners need a thread where coupons and deals can be found and posted here to help keep our tanks healthy At fraction of the cost seeing we tend to use more materials then the little guy. For me it's salt, Salt can be very expensive and where I'm doing 50 to 100 gallon water changes per week on my 500 gallon system (750 total) can be quite expensive. So please anyone with any coupon codes or knowing of any good deals going on any kind of supplies such as salt or anything else please post here

25% off drs foster and smith,, it worked for me 10 boxes of reef crystals delivered for $43 a box,, hurry only hours left to the promotion

One of my biggest costs is kalkwasser. I buy the large two fishes 12kg bucket from Amazon for $150. I can use Randy's recipe but I don't have a lot of time either.

Same with Mg and RODI filters

I tried to get a pallet of sand shipped but I couldn't find enough aragonite.

The closest I got is white sand from the great lakes that wasn't calcium based.

Did you try going directly for aragonite sand to an aquarium hobby supplier like CaribSea?

now that I thought about it for a while, I also bought 10 boxes of 200g mix reef crystals for about 400 bucks this summer too from dr f & smith, delivered to my back porch by ups.. they may do this sale frequently. worth keeping an eye on

karim, why don't you just by food grade hydrated lime/Pickeling lime instead? You can get 20lbs for under $40 from bulk stores.

That's what I got. It should work out to $110 for 12kg vs. the two fishes at $150.

The mrs wages lime didn't mix as well for me and when it did, I went through it faster.

Either way, they're both too expensive. What bulk stores have it?

Just curious, as your in the US, why didn't you try bulk reef supply? I know their kalk is cheap.. They have 5 gallons for 55 dollars. According to my quick calculations, that's 18kg. Then, if you order it two day, that's not much at all.

My tank is only 180dt(210 total volume), but I've use BRS for the longest. Much cheaper than wages and the quality is still there. I buy a gallon of the BRS for half what a smaller wages would cost.
