Supporting plumbing under bulkhead

I have a bulkhead in the bottom of a RR tank. I need to support the plumbing underneath I think. If i nudge it, the bulkhead drips. How do I accomplish that?

Not for nothing but that is going after the symptom not cause. Can you get to the bulkhead to reset it?

I did reset it. I've just seen everywhere 'not to allow the plumbing to be supported by the bulkhead.'

I don't think I have ever seen that. Maybe on long runs it is necessary to support the pvc. on VERY large tanks.Your issue is not supporting the plumbing under the bulkheads. Possibly, the design is stressing the connection and if that's the case, support would not help out and the plumbing should be run differently.my 2 cents

I use a couple of plastic pipe clamps (like used to hold electrical conduit) screwed to the stand and zip ties depending on where it is.

If your stand is wood you can get plumbers strap at any HD,Lowes or hardware. It has holes every inch or so to screw the strap to your stand and relieve stress on the joint.

It depends. Plumbing hanging from a vertically oriented bulkhead (through the bottom) is fine unsupported. Plumbing hanging from a horizontally oriented bulkhead (through the back) should absolutely be supported. That a bulkhaed leaks when bumped suggests it's not installed properly. Maybe the hole was too big or the gasket is flawed.

I reseated it, and it doesn't leak anymore. I just wanted to make sure it didn't need to be supported. I think I actually had it on there too tight, I went with the standard hand tight, plus 1/4 turn recommended and it's staying dry. It wasn't really leaking like a sieve, just a few drips until I tried to tighten it up - and forgot the righty tighty, lefty-loosey saying. Whoops. At least the whole tank's worth of water didn't end up on the floor, just some of the water from the overflow that didn't want to play nice and end up in the sump as it flooded out around the drain pipe.....:hmm4:
