seems kinda tough. but hey, you have 2 angels in a 45gallon with corals!

Not any more. I decided to give them to a friend about a week ago. I wasn't asking for advice, btw, I was just pointing out something you don't usually see on DD.

Thank you for the cut and paste. I didn't read it when I took the time to post the link and the picture and comment on the price.

well, i wasn't giving advice, i was just commenting on it. and i dont see why you should get upset about me showing everyone the stats about this particular anemone. I was just pointing out how hard it was to care for....

hey, if you want to continue an argument with a 15 year old then be my guest. I was just COMMENTING (not giving advice) that you had 2 angels in your tank with corals. I just thought that that was cool.

You gotta LOVE a 15-yr old that recognizes the futility of arguing with him!!

I've ordered two ritteri from LA in the past, and both failed in the first few weeks. I won't do it again. In fact it has been so long that they've had one for sale I was starting to think they gave up.

Your post seemed like sarcasm. I doubt I'm the only one who would think so.

Are they rare on DD? I've never seen one but I don't follow it as close as others. I know they go in and out of stock on the regular site but I've never seen one on DD.

Reef Hot Spot had several H. magnifica that are really beautiful for 99.99 each but they don't have the 2 weeks guarantee like DD

Heteractis magnifica is a nice anemone but I think it is a specimen that belongs in the ocean. The survival rates just don't support paying out that kind of money.

does anyone think i'll have the same problems with survival if it split in captivity? it wouldn't be shipped either because it's local.

fishkid, If it split in captivity and it is local then that is a huge plus in your favor. It still would require a stable tank, the larger the tank the better.

DD seems to have a big burst in these specimens. If I had more tanks then I would for sure try and get one of the Heteractis Magnifica from them but the only problem is Heteractis Magnifica seem to not ship well and would hate to put one of these anemones in my tanks and have it die.I feel like they need a very large tank with a surge system like Wet Web Media says they do.

Yeah. The longer I own an anemone the more I start to think that they do best in a species tank. My maroons and crispa have been doing great since I removed the FA and CB. They were fine before but aggression is way down and the crispa looks good too.

The female still hates me though.

btw: I love the African Mag that they have this morning

I have had some issues with rhs with their mags. None survived, I really think shipping anemones with carbon is a great help.
