Suprised w/ a Gig. Help!

Well I was at Petco with my buying some Crickets and I stopped by Saltwater section to look at the fish as I always do. They had a S. Gigantea or thats atleast what they have it labeled as, I told my wife I would like to get one of those one day. To make a long story short she went out and bought it for me as a suprise because it was on sale. I had a really bad tank crash about 4 months ago and have only had my new tank back up and running for about 2 months. So needless to say my tank most likely isnt ready for it. And of course Petco has a no return policy for Saltwater livestock. So i have got to try and make it work some how, any recommendations on how to proceed. I have kept RBTAs before but never Carpets. Params are good on the tank. I have attached a pic of what it looks like this morning. It looks like it has opened up ok but Im not quite sure about its mouth. What do you guys think? Its a 90g tank, its about 7 fish and a handful of LPS in it.

i think you have purchased a Haddoni carpet. they can be very forgiving anemones.

however, what are your parameters? lighting? what do you use for water motion?

Temp- 77.9
PH- 8.17
Cal-450
Alk-10.5
Mag-1400

I have 2 Jebao RW8s for flow running at about 85% in antisync mode for flow. I have 2 SB reef lights for lighting. I just bought a Seneye so I guess I could try and get a PAR reading when I get home.

I agree that you got a Haddoni. Bleached but seem OK otherwise. Need a fairly deep sand bed and not a lot of flow. High light

I was at my Petco the other day and they had two haddoni -- labeled as S. gigantea. According to one of the workers, when the anemones arrived they were only marked as Stichodactyla sp. and the he just picked the tag out of a binder.

I think Deep Sand bed will be my only issue from what I see. Im about 1 to maybe a 1.5 in some places. If I knew it was that easy to get my wife to buy stuff I would have said I liked those pink or blue carpets lol. I guess Ill have to wait and see what this one will color up like

I'd just add some sand to the area that the anemone is. I use rocks to build sort of a dam to hold the sand in the area I want it.
