Swing check valve vs true union swing check value?

I haven't used either one of those, but I always go with a union valve when I can, that way I can break down the pipe easily.

Also, the first one is female threaded on both sides while the second link is a slip and slip. I personally also like to go slip whenever I can.

So for the extra 3 bucks, I would get the second one, but personally, I would shop around, both those prices seem high.

I use the true union in my tank. It does the job. I have no complaint. I also like the fact i can take it apart and clean it or replace the valve without having to redo the plumbing.

If you are going to use a check valve it must be easy to clean and have easy access. Either the true union or the wye will make the cleaning easier, I think the wye looks the easiest.

I try to avoid a check valve if possible. If you can, just put a small hole to act as a siphon break and you won't need it. They ar way too prone to sticking or stopping up and flooding things.

wye check value

wye check value

the george fisher wye check valve definitely looks easiest to clean. problem is looks like BRS us only seller i see and they are out of 1 inch.

this is kind of stupid question but....if i am using 1 inch tubing, i would look for a 1 inch check valve right? not a 3/4 inch
