Swissguard basslets!

My mated pair of swissguards looks like its going to be having its first clutch in captivity. I am going to try and save some of the viable offspring. I have setup a 36 rimless with no filter, now I just need to breed some baby fish food I think. Once I catch the baby SGB are there any critical steps that must be observed?. I only have had success with feeder fish breeding but I use the same process minus the brine shrimp. If you help me out and it is a success I'll give you a SGB

Eggs are small and extremely fragile.
Todd Gardner of Atlantis has just gotten some to settle out and that took 2 yrs.
Good luck.

The 36 is the same water as the 65. I hope the seamless peramiter change will help but im not certain of the outcome. Of coarse there is a very low expectation of success here but just watching juvenile SGB go down the overflows is lame. I also am not going to deal with the eggs but want to just catch some juveniles as they swim around there first few days, like people do with the clowns.

How long would you expect the larval stage to last for basslets? I could shut off the return pump for upwards of a week I guess to allow for a more stable specimens to transfer. It's really just a curiosity for me I'm not a pro. I just don't see a reason not to try. They are going to produce offspring and they will all die if I don't try so why not try to save at least 1/1000 they are 150 bucks + if you don't catch them.

Thank you that's a great article. One of he's contributors is a friend of mine. I will ask him what he knows on the subject but I see the problem now. It looks like it will be harder than the clowns.
