Swivel Arm Rotation

Roger,

I am using two 6000 streams in my install. Because of the angle (about 45 degrees) I need to achieve I am using the swivel arm attachment. Both pumps (one more than the other) are rotating as much as 90 degrees away from the desired angle. What suggestions do you have to tighten the swivel arm to maintain the angle? Does Tunze make a screw bolt and a nut that fits the two part swivel arm assembly?

Thanks, Mike

This shouldn't happen if the teeth are meshed together on the two pieces but in some circumstances due to flow bounce back or a wavebox it can happen. I can suggest a few options. Part 6200.23 is the post that is threaded with a 8mm nylon screw to clamp down the pump. You could do the same if you have a tap set, tap the hole in the post, metric or standard and but the appropriate size nylon screw at HD or Lowes. You could also use a large nylon nut and screw. You could also just use a zip tie.

Roger,

On the parts I received, the hole in the swivel arm and the post it mounts on are smooth. So I guess I do not know what you are talking about in terms of teeth meshing. I had thought about trying to find a black nylon bolt and nut to use to keep the swivel arm from rotating away from the desired angle on the post. Between HD, Lowes, or a plumbing supply shop I am sure I can come up with something.

I see what folks talk about on the mounting bracket. It is a little flimsy given the power of the pumps. I little more vibration than if the mounting track was more substantial.

Thanks, Mike

They should not be smooth? On the underside of the arm are small serrations, around the post there are serrations. I have seen people mount the pump upside down (pump above the arm rather than under it) If the serrations are not there I can send a new one.

Thanks Roger.

It is true the inside of the swivel holder and outside of the post is smooth. However, when I got home I saw the teeth you were talking about on the outside edge of the swivel holder. Yes you guessed it they were upside down. I assumed the Tunze label of the back of the pump should read from the top. Bad assumption … seems the rotation issue is fixed though. Thanks for the tip.

I have another issue I would like your help on. I will post it on a new thread.

Thanks, Mike
