T-5

We have a 8 bulb x 54 watt unit with fans and moonlights. Works great just not big enough to cover our rubbermaid. Asking $325

4 lamp retro or a 6 lamp Nova Extreme Pro is probably your only choices over that tank, aren't the ends only about 10" front to back?

Another option would be to use 36" lamps. You would still get quite a bit of light out to the ends of the tank, enough for softies or whatever.

Grim, actually it's 12". I want to be able to house all my SPS LPS corals from the 125 in the 72 while I move and set the tank up in california. So I need enough light (without breaking the bank) to keep the corals thriving for 2-3 months. T5's seemed like the cheapest route.

Not many options. I have a 6 lamp unit that would fit over it but it ain't cheap. That 36" IC retro would work if you could concentrate the SPS in the center below the lamps. LPS would be good out in the bow and the ends. 4x48 retro would be better if you can find one.

Where you movin in Cali?

I don't think I'd ever want to go back to California. Twenty three years of living in that hell hole is enough. Can't go up to Northern California huh? Air Force making you move to Ventura?

Yep ventura. I lived in Long Beach for 18 years and really have zero desire to go back. but it's only for 5 years and we are coming back here.

We have been looking at homes out there and they are soooo overpriced. the house that I have now would be worth 500K in California.

That's true about most areas in California.

We owned a house in the Sacramento area. When we moved out here to Colorado, I paid $20K more for my house here for less of a house. Out in California we had about the same amount of square feet but we had an inground pool with a waterfall. That's the only thing I miss about California hehe.
