Im planning on adding one of these to my tank, question is how well would they do with barebottom, or do they prefer sand. Anything else I should know, ive kept croceas and maximas for a few years.
 
the problem with putting the clam on a bare bottom is if you ever need to move the clam it could be very hard to do. the clam is going to get fairly big. i would at least put a shell or piece of flat rock under it to attach itself to. good luck to you

this is very true, i dont know i may eventually go back to sand, so ill just put him on something for the time being, I did this with my crocea also so I could move him.
 
does anyone know what colors the farm raised ones come in, the only ones ive seen are teal spotted thats about it, but ive seen huge bluish ones before.
