Is this a decent light? It looks like it does not have individual reflectors. Does that matter?

It's an OK lighting system IMO. Yes, it doesn't have the individual reflectors that the SLS and IC are known for. Have you check out ReefGeek.com's website or oceanencounter.com? Oceanencounter has a free shipping deal when you buy their SLS or IC retro's. Good place to start.

The Current USA that I listed is half the price at 159.99 that is why it got my attention in the first place.

If you're only keeping softies and other low to mid lighting corals - then that would be fine. But, if you're going to keep mid to high light demanding corals - then I would opt for the SLS or IC reflectors.

I do have 2 SLS Triad T5 electronic ballasts with waterproof stand off's and end caps - you'll need new reflectors and bulbs (my are 36" reflectors and bulbs). If you're interested.

Patio, I have (2) 24" Odysse fixtures you can use to make a retro. I would buy some better ballasts and bulbs. I have been meaning to do it for a small frag tank, but I have other stuff that is more important. Let me know if you want them and I can check on what pieces I actually have. You won't get Individual reflectors BTW.

Never used the fixture, so I can't comment on it.
My bulb recomendation would be
(1) GE Daylight, (2) ATA Plue Pluses, (1) ATI Aqua Blue. That combo makea a high PAR, 14k kinda look.

Thanks for the suggestion. Forgot to mention, I am looking to have some sps on the top shelf of rock. Will that combo work? I like the sound of 14k look with high par.

There was a sight mentioned last week where you can find very low price bulbs, anyone remember that sight?

Assuming the fixture performs similar to a Tek, you should have no problems with SPS or Clams under the light.

There are plenty of places to buy cheap bulbs, but they stink. Stick to the name brand bulbs. Reefgeek and Innovative Lighting (local) have good prices.
