t5 for carpets?

Will 4 x 54 t5 work for a carpet place at the bottom of a 24 inch tank?

What kind of carpet? I've had mini maxi's and a green haddoni under 4 bulbs of T5HO. But I Have no experience with other types of carpet anemones under T5 lighting. they do like more intense lighting and would not try gigs under less than LED or metal halides.

You're talking about a 4' tank right? If it's for a haddoni, I think you're fine. For a gig, the more light, the better. I actually don't think you can have too much. I've seen photos of them in less than a foot of water, under the midday sun.

D, how do you keep your fishes from getting eaten? I want fishes beside clowns, but afraid they may get eaten

The only way to prevent fish from being eaten is to not have them. There is always a chance that one of your fish will fumble into the nem. Carpets are best suited for species specific tanks.
