Hi all,
I plan on getting the Tek T5 HO 48" 4 x 54 for my 72 gallon bow front tank. My question is will I be able to keep SPS, LPS, brain corals with this lighting. I currently have 230 watt power compacts and keep soft corals fine but I want to keep some hard corals would the 4x54 be fine?

It is the Tek light each bulb has it's own reflector. I want to use the 48" 4 x 54 on a 72 gallon tank

I currently have PC lights and I keep soft corals with no problems. I want to get some hard corals (SPS) and maybe a clam anyone have the 48" Tek light 4 x 54 that keep Hard corals and a clam?

From all the reports I've seen, T-5 are fine for most hard corals. Even the more light demanding types can usually be kept if one just places them higher up on the rockwork.

i have 8 bulb t-5 tek light, i run 6 aquablue and 2 blue + , one in front and one in back, so far nothing i cant keep, 2 crocea clams , acros...................i did have to move my clams up from bottom tho..............if you run 4 aquablue bulbs id bet youll be fine, ozone to keep water crystal clear doesnt hurt either ;).................keep em 3-4 inches off water

i should add it is 48" 54w as well , but 8 on a 120 , its about 20" from sand to bulbs, i have a pink millepora 3" off bottom and its nice and bright pink, in the beginning i tried actinics and suns and all that, to me the aquablues kill, i throw the blue + in to give it a sky effect when looking up through tank........
