Taboo hosting

So I bought a purple Condylactud anenome yesterday and it looks like it's doing great in my tank.

I don't have any clowns yet in the DT, they are in quarantine. When I asked the LFS if I could put the clowns in there he didn't mention anything that the nem may possibly eat the clowns but I'm seeing a lot of posts where people indicate how it's somewhat dangerous rare and possibly a bad situation.

Before I put the clowns in I need some info on this. I wasnt planning on the clowns hosting, i really just like the look of the condy.

Should i bring it back?

What clowns do you have?

I would only try it with a species from the clarkii complex, as they are not very picky and take pretty much every anemone in captivity. I had a crysogaster that hosted in an Actinia species.

Ocellaris or percula are much more picky, especially wild caught.

I have the chocolate mis bar clowns. Im guessing percula?

Should i fear/ worry them turning into dinner when i put them in? Lol

I never tried a Condylactis with clowns so I can't really tell.

But if you google "condylactis anemone and clownfish" you find pictures of (likely captive bred) percula and ocellaris that accepted Condylactis.

If you want to try it I would suggest to place a cage around the anemone at the time you add the clowns and see if they show any interest.

My (wild) percula did not even show the slightest interest in my green BTA.

So it really is hit or miss then. Ill give it a shot. If they dont host i wont be bummed out, but if they do n get eaten i will lol
