has anyone ever had an issue with tail spot blennies picking at sps corals . If so . what did they do to stop the behavior

I only saw mines nip my starburst monti cap once.
He doesn't really do any harm, but I think its just best to keep him well fed.

Have the same with a dot dash and he has killed a few corals. Took out a fist sized tricolour and a foot high bali slimer. He picks at my Montis and turbinaria occasionally and has a few bites at my pocillopora but not enough to kill them. I love the little guy so stock around him.
If you can up the feeding try it but most of the time if they have a taste for it it will continue.

Same thing with my Lawnmower Blenny. He has nipped a couple of corals to death. So much for reef-safe. As I have learned in this hobby no fish is actually reef-safe.
