After adding some more cured live rock i came across and a few more Corals. The Tonga Branch piece in the right corner. Is covered in Brown Polyps..they we're completely closed when i got the piece...current pix below..AMAZING how they bounced back.

This was the day i added my Coralife Aqualight System w/ Built In Moonlights...and a Blue Fin, and Blue Damsel...BIG MISTAKE! LoL I took a risk. It backfired, the Blue Fin mowed down my Xenia and the Blue Damsel was munching on my Colt Coral.

The aforementioned Brown Polyps.

Thank You! My work is never finished though hehehe. Im using a CPR CS50 Overflow Box, with a 10G Tank as the Sump/Fuge and a Mag Drive 3 for the return pump.

I must say, after incorporating the Sump/Fuge...i will never do a Reef Tank without one again, regardless of size! I love it!

Currently running this system skimmer less so we will see how long this will last.

If you haven't already, get yourself the aqualifter pump for the overflow as a failsafe. It's only $15 but the peace of mind is priceless.

Yup yup, that's a Pygmy Angel...my favorite, so far, i must admit.

He will occasionally nip at my Xenia and Feather Dusters. Other than that he leaves everything else alone. As far as Corals go!

My Six Line Wrasse and him, get into it pretty gnarly at times. Which usually results in some addition of stress coat to help em heal up! LOL In hindsight, which is always 20/20, i would have added him last...i also read after the fact, that to do so is a good idea...But it all worked out. :)

Very nice! Question about your CPR overflow box, how do you like the performance? Is it quiet at all? Also do you feel it is really siphon break safe and all? I'm looking at buying one of those or building a overflow box and since the tank will be in my room I am trying to get the tank decently quiet, and also its on our 2nd floor and I don't want a leak!

I love my CPR Overflow Box..i personally feel its exceptionally quiet and easy to maintain. I do a weekly sponge cleaning and bi-weekly box and hose cleaning...running trouble free.
I feel if you incorporate the Aqualifter pump as mentioned earlier in the thread..its fool proof.
It does produce a substantial amount of bubbles at first, but once its broken in its very minimal.

I like the noise it produces, sounds like a small stream or waterfall, IMO. I love it, sometimes i opt to sleep on the couch to listen to it! LoL

No Joke :)

I've used a CPR overflow too and I really like it. The U-tube overflow I had was horrible. It would get full of air and you have to suck it out by mouth with air line tubing.

Would you recommend a pygme angel and a Six Line together in a 40 gallon tank?

I would totally recommend it. For 2 reasons, you have a larger DTvgor them both. You would also be introducing the Pygmy Angel last. I read after the fact, that this is the way to go given these little guys' semi aggressive nature.

As of late the hierarchy, if you will, of the reef has stabilized. The 6 line wrasse is once again the domnant fish..with his faithful sidekick the Pygmy Angel alongside as they swim and scavenge. No serious quarrelling for at least the past week. FYI =)

Hello...here are a couple recent pix.

nice tank, on your return pump i think you need to put the pump into a acrylic box so that you dont have to use the sponge for it water will still flow into.
