taking anemone away from clownfish

I have had a 40 g for a couple years now and in it a mated pair of true percs which host a RBTA. I am downsizing my tank to a 24 gallon nano cube and therefore can't keep the anemone but don't want to give up the clowns. I hate to take their anemone away from them but does anyone think they will be alright if they find a new host, such as a frogspawn or leather?

Yes, I moved my 75 (with a mated pair of clarkii's) I moved the tank
April 10 (or there abouts) They didn't spawan until two nights ago.
This "batch" was a lot smaller than normal.

dont think anyone will have a definite answer for this.

Great contribution.

thanks for the input everyone, I forgot to subscribe to the thread and thought nobody had responded. I would like to keep the anemone but the nano cube only has 72W of pc lighting, so I dont feel it would be sufficient.

Heck with the mating ritual, they'll consider it a vendetta against the Hand that Stole the Anemone. My pair attacked my ring, from ever after. From clear across a 100 gallon tank---wham! That'd be clown #1.

I'd say wear a ring when you Do the Deed. It was a lot better having her hit the ring with those little teeth than concentrating on my hand.

i just moved them to the 24g. wow do they look big in there. they seem to be doing fine, hopefully they will take to the frogspawn.
