As you can probably tell I'm quite bored

It all begins when these two meet for the first time....

The married ocellaris come over to check out what all the noise is about!

meanwhile... the GSM's true soul mate waits nearby.. (unknown to him)...

after meeting their new neighbors.. the ocellaris couple decides to call it a day and return home

I have 2 GSM, 2 Ocellaris, and the 1 Clarkii.

Have Sebae (for probably about 4-5 months now... it's getting quite big!), RBTA for a short time and GBTA for a few days only but they're all doing GREAT! I may get some more anemones in the future such as flower/rock anemones and stuff. I really love the creatures and wouldn't mind dedicating my tank to them.

After feeding time just now the Clarkii decided he likes the Sebae more. He's battling it out with the larger maroon kinda. I'm hoping to get another Clarkii and have those in my Crispa, 2 maroons in my GBTA, and the mated pair of Oce already host the RBTA (though they might lose it and be forced to move to the GBTA)

I'm hoping the separate anemones will keep them from fighting too much with each other. If there starts to be some aggression between the clowns then I'll just return the problem ones to the LFS.

I will probably end up with 2 maroons in the end but for now things are perfectly fine. The ocellaris rule the other clowns (they've been established awhile)

I have tried mixed clowns in my 1200 gallon tank, with multipule amanones with little sucess.

Best of luck though!

Thanks for the input everyone. I thought 150g was sort of the min. point where I could try to mix clowns. Would I be best to remove them now??

I can't really decide which ones I like more :( The ocellaris are paired already but the GSM look great.

OTOH, I could wait until there starts to be some aggression and then remove them?

Let me know what you guys think - My LFS said it should be ok with different hosts but I didn't realise maroons were THAT evil

Edit: And just now when I fed my maroon clowns started vibrating at each other and sharing the anemone so I believe they might be mated.

Clowns don't like to mix very much. Eventually you wil wind up with one pair.

Pick one pair and return the rest to the LFS. It may be fine in the morning one day and you return to some dead clowns. It can happen that fast. My persoal favorite would be the GSM.

I'm really leaning towards the GSM - they are a few inches away from each other now and not fully paired yet... but I think it will happen.

It's just that everyone else (except me) prefers the Ocellaris because of finding nemo

Maybe I will return the clarkii now and see what happens with the Oce and GSMs.

If I were to try them, I would keep maroons and clarkis, both agressive, ocellaris are the least aggresive, and would not stand a chance.

But again, I would be very leary of this.

thats why i would just keep the ocellaris. the Clarkii is quite large and the maroons are are the same size it looks like.....

The clarkii is a bit larger than the maroons at this point. The female oce is about the same size/slightly bigger then the maroons but the oce is still dominant.

MIt's difficult to decide to keep just Oce aftering seeing these nice GSM.

I guess I'll have to decide over the next few days and catch the other ones :( Such a tough decision

Very funny! But man be careful with your clowns, as they have said maroon might kill other clowns. They are very aggressive.

Thanks for the advice again everyone!! It's on my mind constantly.

Curenntly the male oce chases away the maroon if it gets too close - and it's only half the size. The Clarkii is a bit bigger though and seems to be dominant over the maroons/male oce.

I love the Oce because they spend ALL day swimming around with my chromis!! I didn't know clownfish would do this... but they join the school of chromis!! it's quite a sight.

I just caught the Clarkii and took it back. I'm going to see how the Oce and GSM interract over the next few weeks and make my decision then.

I`ve mixed several different species of clowns with success , but haven`t tried anything with maroons yet .
