Tamarin Wrasse Primer.

question!! i have a 3.5 inch red tail, been in the system for 6 months or so, we just adopted (after a friend lost her tank to glass shatter and 200 g on the floor) a yellow tail tamarin, the yellow is about 2 inch, she has had her for 3 months or so.

Will the yellow cause the red to turn into male. the yellow was in pretty bad shape due to the tank dropping all her fish on the floor. but the red tail has been swimming around her and not picking on her so looks pretty promising.

they have a slightly differnt pattern and tail colors ......

Looks like I can finally get a trio of Anampses chrysocephalus sent here to Australia. Been looking for a long time.
Other inhabitants will be a Macropharyngodon Kuiteri and a pair of Macropharyngodon choati.
Tank is 48x30x18.
I've read a lot about the difficulty of shipping males, and wanted people's thoughts on this vs getting a trio of females.
Thanks in advance.

Any update of these fish ?

Thanks for the replies! 3 females it is then:)

Oh and in answer to question about other inhabitants, all doing great. Kuiteri was initially one of a pair, but I lost its partner. Choati have been great from day 1, never had an issue. It's coming up to a year now I've had them.

Do you plan to add a second Kuiteri ? It's an amazing leopard wrasse.

What's your secret for success with the Choati? The vast majority of Choats that are imported to the states are dead within a few weeks inspite of the fact that many are eating and fat.I'm 0/5 with them so far. Will never buy one again.

Any experiences with Anampses caeruleopunctatus? My LFS got a female in yesterday.. Good chances she turns male?

I just picked up one today...out of the bag and dove into the sand. It came out later in the day just picking at some LR and critters in some algae..not taking any prepared foods, NutraMar Ova brine, mysis etc.. but picking at rocks is a good start, my yellow tail started the same way ..so hopefully.

Looks like I'm joining the club...

Got surprised with this today, and two potters to boot. I'm excited, but nervous. I've owned leopards before, but this is my first tamarin...
