Tang eating brine...bad?

I have been feeding my chainlink eel brine shrimp since I have had him. Just a few days ago, I added a sailfin tang to the mix and noticed that he is eating shrimp too. Is there a problem with this seeing as they are herbivores or am I mistaken?

yup, theyll eat meaty foods with vigor in most cases. It should not be an issue, but ensure it has plenty of plant matter in its diet already.

IMHO pretty much normal, tangs eat anything, but too much meat can get them aggressive though so proper balance is still required.

I agree that it's not a problem as long as your tang is getting its greens, but you really need to switch to something else for your eel anyway.

They're omnivores.

Yeah, almost all fish listed as "herbivore'' are omnivores. They eat plenty of small animal life while grazing on the reef. IME, it is always easier to get a fussy new tang to eat mysis than greens.
All Vegans cheat a little.

i dont know why people even use brine shrimp at all... unless gut packed, they offer little to no nutrients whatsoever to any animal... mysis, vitamen soaked, all the way...

but eels should be fed krill, silversides and squid etc... jmo
