If you really want to get down to the nitty gritty here, whether the fish is 1" or 1 ' should it be captive in a homeowners tank, even in a hundred gallon tank they are used to being in an unlimited resource. So for anyone to say that it's cruel to have a fish in such a small tank , I think is hypocritical.Obvoiusly sticiking a large fish in a small tank is crazy, but sticking a small one is too if you really think about it. I'm just as guilty as everyone here , don't get me wrong, but I think some people have overreacted.

I agree 100% Chris.Just having a reef/fish tank puts you in the same "cruel" category.

As someone who chooses to keep a reef tank I understand that it is my responsibilty to provide the best environment for all the animals in my care. The level to which I carry this out is what determines if I am cruel. The "genesis1:26" is somewhat amusing, as you don't appear to understand what is meant by the very line you reference. Dominion is not simply power over another being, but the role as a caretaker, ensuring that they don't suffer, watching out for them. All IMO.

I would think keeping a large fish in a small aquarium would look very odd, and unpleasing to the eye. I'm not much of an animal lover, would love to keep a tang in my 24L but it would just look stupid. And if I did I wouldn't post here about it.
