Ive got a 3" purple tange that has taken to hanging out inside (literaly inside) my gigas (17"). He just hangs out rubbing himself on the clams gill. Clam doesnt seem to mind. Is this normal or ok for a fish / clam to do this in the big clams?
i have seen several fish host in those big gigas's ( or is that gigi ? ) and even a few that like to go inside the incurrent siphon. the rubbing may be a bit of a concern but if the clam doesn't seem to mind .... from my experience the larger clams get pretty docile and let fish get away with loads of stuff where the smaller clams would not tolerate it.
could you post a pic? not that i don't believe you, just want to see it
Thats good to here. Ive been asking around and it seems to be pretty common. I'll try and get a pic next time I catch him in there. There is plenty of extra space in there I guess.
