Tang mixing?

I have a 180 gal reef tank. I have had a powder blue tang and purple tang for years now and was thinking about adding another. My powder blue is big and mean and is the dominate fish in the tank. I know that any normal tang don't stand a chance but I really like the sohal tang. Now they are probably more aggressive from what I read than my powder blue so I thought if there was a chance I might take it. At one time I had an emporer angel that was about the same size as my tang and he didn't even try time pick with him...but he's not a tang. After he ate a lot of my corals I decided I wanted more corals more than him and traded him off to another good home. So what do you guys think... will a sohal tang be ok with a powder blue and purple tang? Thanks for any help

Sohals are large, aggressive fish that would quickly be cramped in a 180 in the best of circumstances. I certainly wouldn't add one to a tank with two existing tangs. I would expect WWIII.

How about a nice pair of genicanthus angels instead? All the stripes and streamers, without the attitude :D

Other issues aside, one sure way to make your big 180 look like an itty bitty tank is to add a sohal tang.

I think you would regret adding the sohal tang and likely would end up with only one tang and maybe only one fish (the sohal). If the power blue is big enough it probably will kill the sohal, but if the sohal is big enough to stand up to the pbt it will take over the tank. As others have said, a 180 is too small for a sohal of any size.

Ya I figured I was done adding tangs to the tank but I saw one at the lfs and it was awesome. Then I looked it up on a supposed reputable fish website and some of there info made me think maybe. So I knew I could count RC to help me out on it. Thanks for your replies
