beautiful fish!

you got a mustard in qt? ours is a bully towards our thompsons!

and thor awesome pics!! :smokin:

yeah, the mustards in QT. He's only half the size of the maculiceps, so I'm not too worried.

My biggest issue is my POS yellow tang. He thinks he's god's gift to water. One day, he'll go somewhere else.

Besides my Chocolate Tang...

My favorite tangs (ones I wish I could have) are the Gem Tang, Black Tang, Luitennant Tang and a Dussimieri Tang. Actually, I'm pretty partial to my Vlamingi as well.

You might want to consider taking that power strip out of the water!:D

JRAquatics- Gotta love those maculiceps. They change color SO fast, and are almost "lazy". Certainly not like sohals that pace the tank frantially. At least, mines not.

Mine is super busy. Constantly watching what's going on outside of the tank. The personality these fish have are amazing. Like underwater dogs. The only color change I ever see is when she gets into it with the Sailfin. The patterns that come out are amazing.

Mines always on the move, but at about 1/2 MPH. He just bounces around, not a care in the world. But mine is crazy wit the color change. Usually a chesnut brown/green (like in the pic), but the food is getting ready, jet black. When he's really lazy and mellow a lemon color (like the pic below). all within seconds of one another some time. He also consumes a lot of substrate (and is constantly defecating sand). Eats out of my hand, and nevers bothers any of the other fish, even the other tangs who sometimes get ridiculously brave and test him.

I have noticed mine also consumes a lot of substrate. Does anyone know why that is? Mine usually stays the jet black with Yellow upperhalf and spots. When he gets ****y with the other tangs his black turns electric blue and his face turns dark black with really vibrant yellow spots. I will have to get a shot of her nextime when they get at it.

my orange shoulder does this also. It helps with their digestion process. Its is very normal for them to do it.

Yes, I have seen orange shoulders do this a lot (along with dussumieris, etc). I belive they are consuming the diatoms, and just "suck" in everything. I dont know that it "aids in their digetsion", but I instead believe it is a harmless side effect.
