i snuck out before dinner to get the pics. of the kole. i only brought the point and shoot camera so these are the best i could do. plus they were really busy and the tank was dirty from catching all those fish.

compared to the naso as color reference.

compared to the yellow.

by itself...it's actually more pinkish in person.

any comment/input on this odd color tang? in person it's kinda peach/orange/lavender. it appears to be an adult size, yellow ring around the eyes, and stripes pattern, so i don't think it's juvinile transitioning.

purple tang. the purple tang was damaged in transit to the store on the fin on the left side of it's body. it has been in fish collection for over two months now and is fat and healthy. i ended up getting this particular purple tang because it had the greatest personality. only waited so long to make sure the fin would grow back.

:)

sorry for the blurry pictures, but it's all i have for now, i'll repost with something more clear later.

how long have you had him. he looks a bit thin. his facial bones appear to be sticking out

got him a day ago. he is eating fine this morning. fed him mysis shrimp and ulva algae. what i think is wierd about him is his belly isn't pinched at all. he's just got a skinny body. hopefully a couple months will fix that. got him because he was eating fine at the LFS. here's a better picture of him

and a better shot of my purple tang :) (there's flash)

he's definetly very thin. make sure you get him fattened up. If you can get some selcon on that mysis that would help a lot. when you look at him in that face on shot you can see his body pinches behind his facial bones. shouldnt be anything food wont fish, but he is def. on the thing side

Yes i agree with cl2y. he is very thin. I Say just keep on trying to feed him a little more each day and keep nori out on a clip for him all the time and maybe he will come up to it.

:) thanks. i fed him some more last night with pellets and mysis shrimp. put in some ulva for him, but the purple tang is a pig and ate it all.

How old is that setup, too? I noticed almost all your rock is white. An established tank with algae growth would also go a lond ways in keeping him fed (boththe clown atang and the purple).

its 2.5 months... but the tank took a two week cycle (most rock was from curing vats 3 months in the LFS and some from my 2.5yr old 65g ) algae is just starting to pop up again. i had macros growing fine before, but the tangs made short work of those... so now i am putting it in myself a few times a day, with some in hard to reach (or see) areas so they can establish in the tank. i am only putting in ulva though. it is less invasive and nicer looking.
