Tang question

yellow tang

yellow tang

Had to give up a foxface last night because of my yellow tangs aggressive behavior. He wouldn't allow the foxface out of the corner for two weeks. The tang was in place first however he has not bothered any other fish that were added after him. The foxface may have been too close in size, body type and color.

I don't want to highjack your thread, but I thought that since everyone was talking tangs I could throw in a question. :)

I am setting up a 125g (180 total water volume). I want a yellow, and a hippo and POSSIBLY a powder brown. I only have 1 - 20 long qt tank. Everyone says to add them at the same time, but you have to qt everything. Do I need to set up 3 seperate qt tanks for these guys?? If I add them all at the same time should I add them first or toward the end? If they are the first ones in...do I need to qt them? (shh...don't tell anyone I said that! :))

They will be the main fish in my tank. Others will include some clowns and chromis.

I by from DR F&S, all there stock is QT before they add them to there tanks, I nevered QT anything from them and never had my tank contaminaded from them, that may be the way to go.IMHO

Same here. Our powder blue came from Dr F&S. Three years later, he's still around. Great livestock from those guys.

Wow, so you have 4 in your 150? So I should be able to get away with a yellow tang, powder blue tang, and a blue tang? That would be the ultimate dream.

That list would be fine in your tank. Add the powder blue as the last fish. They are very agressive and will likely bully any new addition.
